Mush & Plush
Hello again from your pal Mo! Well, I got to have a grrreat vacation at Uncle Nick’s. I had a cozy time sleeping on the furniture. I’ve told you before that Nick’s is the only place I get to snuggle into a velvety pink armchair! I think it’s Nick’s favorite chair and I love that I get to be top dog of the pink chair with arms for restin’ my head.
But that’s not the main story today. I’m gonna bark a bit about where Susan went on her grrreat trip. I am kinda jealous cuz she was hangin’ out with other canines which I could smell on her mittens. Siberian Huskies to be exact, eight of them no less. Yup, maybe you guessed it, sled dogs. She went to Colorado and mushed a team of sled dogs. Hey you can too! Good Times Adventures has Dog Sledding and more.
Here’s Susan mushing the Huskies! “Hike, hike!” Going slow uphill and fast downhill!
Did you know that Huskies love super cold weather. When it’s -10 degrees out they are lovin’ it. Not me dog, give my a cute sweater and some California sunshine all the way!!
Huskies also have really long hair coming from between the bottom of their paw pads. This helps keep their paws warm in the snow. The humans at Good Times take really good care of their 150 pure breed Siberian Huskies. Here’ some ways you can keep your paws happy too . . .
TIPS: Winterizing your paws.
~ We like to lick our paws, so make sure that after a walk where there might be ice melt or salt that our paws are clean.
~ Bag Balm or Vaseline are great to soften or protect our paw pads.
Hey, and Susan brought me back a present . . . no, it wasn’t a lousy T-shirt! It wasn’t a new baby Husky to play with either. I got a new squeaky toy! Here’s me chompin’ on it!
Susan also finished a couple portraits before her trip. Here’s Gracie and Maggie!
Keep your tail a waggin’!
Bark for now. Your pal, Mo
